The above is a clip from a Disney cartoon very few of us have been able to see…until now, thanks to the magic of the Internet. Animator Steve Moore (currently working at Illumination Entertainment) has posted the entirety of his rarely-seen Academy-Award-nominated short Redux Riding Hood which he did at Disney Television Animation, along with the story behind it. You can find both here.

A very funny cartoon that is definitely worth a look, it features a jazzy soundtrack, an interesting photo-background design motif, and a very impressive voice cast (Michael Richards, Mia Farrow, Garrison Keillor, Fabio, Lacey Chabert, June Foray, Adam West, Don Rickles, and Jim Cummings) along with a goofy premise from Emmy-winning writer Dan O’Shannon (Cheers, Modern Family): not being able to live down the Red Riding Hood incident, the wolf decides to build a time machine and try again in order to redeem himself in the eyes of…himself. It only gets sillier from there. It’s a shame this was never released officially, but now like many things, it (hopefully) lives on in the annals of the Internet.
